Copy Editing Development Editing Proofreading Chicago Manual of Style US & UK English Game Narrative Spec Fiction Project Management Python Machine Learning

I'm a freelance editor based in Corrales, New Mexico, with over a decade of experience editing science fiction, fantasy, and tabletop game content for publishers in the US and UK.

My work spans everything from dense worldbuilding lore in roleplaying games to board game rulebooks to speculative fiction. I co-edited Far Horizons, an online SFF publication, for five years — reading slush, developing submissions, and working directly with authors to sharpen their stories.

I'm fluent in both US and UK editorial conventions and deeply at home in Chicago Manual of Style. I bring a reader's eye and a writer's ear to every manuscript I touch. I am a committed devotee of the em dash — unapologetically — and a steadfast defender of the Oxford comma, which is correct, necessary, and non-negotiable.

When I'm not editing, I'm homeschooling my daughter with a focus on STEM, managing operations at Campersand — a residential math camp for gifted students — and taking coursework in Python, machine learning, and AI.

What Game Designers Know About Pacing That Novelists Don't

After editing 30+ tabletop RPG and board game titles, I keep noticing the same structural instincts that fiction writers resist — and probably shouldn't.

The Difference Between US and UK Editorial Style (And Why It Matters)

It's not just spelling. Ten years of editing for both markets taught me that the differences run deeper than -ize vs. -ise.
